A five-part series with teaching guide and Web resources designed to educate students in grades 5-6 about the southernmost continent.

Big or Small: Measure It All
Videos show students in grades 4-6 how measurement is used every day in the “real world.”

Change My Mind: The Power of Persuasion
Students in grades 8-10 learn about persuasive techniques, especially as they relate to the writing process.

Constitution Challenge
Developed for students in grades 5-8, this multimedia package uses social studies and language arts to educate students about the Constitution.

Economics Academy 101
Lesson plans, videos and Web activities help students in grades 4-8 understand the role of economics in our society.

It’s a Gas: Math and Science of the Blimp
This is an 11-part series using the Goodyear blimp to illustrate middle school math and science principles.

The Language of Trauma and Loss
This four-part multimedia series provides teachers with information about the effects of trauma and loss, and helps teachers establish a safe classroom.

Math and Science Gumbo
Created for students in grades 3-6, this five-part series uses the kitchen and cooking to illustrate elementary principles of math and science.

108 Stitches: The Physics in Baseball
This four-part program, developed for grades 6-10, uses baseball to demonstrate some of the basic principles of physics.

One State – Many Nations: Native Americans in Ohio
This five-part multimedia kit, designed for children in grades 4-6, takes a closer look at the rich cultural and historical heritage of Ohio’s Native Americans.

Shortcuts to Happiness: The Performing Arts
A 10-video series for middle school and high school students, this program offers insight into the careers that work together to make theater.

Snapshot: The Decades
This multimedia kit illustrates some of the significant events that occurred in each decade from the 1920s through the 1960s.

Test Quest
This multimedia project helps students in grades 4-6 prepare for taking tests.

Quiz Bus: Dealing With Data
Five videos, a teacher guide and a Web site help students in grades 4-8 learn how to collect, analyze and present data.

You Be the Producer
This four-video series offers step-by-step instruction about digital video production.

 

 

Professional Development Workshops

PBS 45 & 49 Educational Services provides workshops at the Professional Development Center in Kent or at your school upon request. Sessions at your location can be tailored to meet the needs of your school.

The Comprehensive and Basic Membership levels include complimentary registrations and reduced on-site professional development fees. Additional services may be purchased separately.

During the last school year, PBS 45 & 49 offered more than 120 professional development opportunities at our Professional Development Center and over 30 opportunities at area school districts. PBS 45 & 49 is one of eight Ohio Educational Technology Agencies, all of which provided more than 150,000 hours of professional development to over 155,000 educators serving 2.1 million students across Ohio during the 2006-07 school year.
