Sample Letters: Interview Request Letter

October 9, 2001

Dear Grandpa,

My language arts class has been going to the Ameritech lab at Kent State and doing a project on oral history. I feel that you are an important part in my history so I would like to interview you. If you could please come to the Ameritech lab so that I can interview you on Thursday October 11, 2001, Monday October 15, 2001 or Tuesday October16, 2001 from 8:30AM to 9:30 AM. The interview will take about an hour. You will be recorded on video and on audio so you will need to sign the slip attached. I would be pleased if Grandma could also come. Although Grandma will not be interviewed, she may add information so she needs to sign a release form also.

Refreshments will be provided for the three of us. Please bring photos of your life and the times you went through. I am really looking forward to seeing you at the Ameritech Lab. Directions to the Ameritech lab are attached.
