In the background is a two-sided ax. Axes are a category of weapons all by themselves. Axes of all types were commonly used in combat in medieval Europe. Battle axes are essentially larger versions of simple axes and are usually two-handed and double-headed.

This simple ax has one head and is much lighter than the battle ax. It's also very deadly.

Flails were hard poles, often made of wood with mass on the end. They were swung around so the user could build up momentum before striking the target.

Morning stars were like flails, except that the thing that swung around was generally a spiked ball.

The mace is  simple club and was used in cultures throughout human history. Simple maces consist of a handle, usually made of wood, with a hard striking object fitted to the top of the handle. The ending piece could be a variety of objects. For example, a spiked ball could be on the end.

In the front is a spear. It was commonly used for "in close" fighting.

This war hammer is very heavy and is used to club an enemy.
