PBS Kids Features Recycling
Friday, April 20 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
PBS Kids helps children celebrate Earth Day
with Share the Earth Day, a special two-hour programming event.
The special recycling-themed program block features dialogue
between Miss Lori and Hooper that helps kids discover ways
to protect the planet through recycling.
In addition, the block of shows featured have
“Earth-friendly” themed episodes that emphasize
recycling, planting flowers and conserving water. There are
also music videos from the award-winning kids’ rock
band Milkshake that focus on taking care of the earth and
keeping it clean.
The programs featured in the “Share the
Earth Day” special are Curious George
at 3:30 p.m., Clifford the Big Red Dog at
4 p.m., Dragon Tales at 4:30 p.m. and It’s
a Big, Big World at 5 p.m.
For It’s a Big, Big World,
Friday’s very special celebration culminates a full
week of brand-new episodes.
“Children like to feel that they can contribute,
and Share the Earth Day reminds them that they can help the
environment,” said Heidi Johnson, community outreach
coordinator. “PBS programming offers an entertaining,
educational format that encourages children to make a difference,
while providing them with specific ways to help.”
