Lead the Way With Words

From their earliest experiences in infancy to their first day in kindergarten, children develop the language to express thoughts, ideas and emotions.

Even before they speak, infants hear others talk about the world and begin to understand the words people use. As you share your day with children, the activities that you do together help them understand words. Their vocabulary continues to grow, and soon they are able to express thoughts and experiences.

Language makes it possible for children to understand their world, and to learn in school and in life. It lays the foundation for them to become readers and writers as they begin to make the connection between the sounds that they hear and the printed letters that they see.

Language is the key to learning and discovery, and words are the building blocks of language. So … lead the way with words, and you’ll be opening up a world of possibilities for a child!
