Fall season to deliver new episodes
of children’s favorites
Fall means change of all kinds, including the color of the leaves
and the programming on television. PBS 45 & 49 will make changes
in the children’s schedule beginning in September. While the
station will devote 55 hours a week to children’s programs,
the series Postcards From Buster, George
Shrinks, Dragonfly TV, ZOOM,
Teletubbies and Adventures From the Book
of Virtues will discontinue. New series coming into the
schedule are Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks
(weekdays at 6:30 am) and Make Way for Noddy (Sundays
at 6:30 am). You’ll find the the changes in the fall schedule
in this issue of The Ones to Grow On.
Also check out these PBS KIDS series that will present several
new episodes throughout the fall:

simple life lessons encourage sharing, working together, playing
fair and being a good friend.
Cyberchase
New episodes in September & November
Cyberchase makes math and problem-solving come
alive through humor, action and adventure. The series features a
team of curious kids and their cyberbird pal, Digit, who together

take over Cyberspace.
Sesame Street
New episodes in September & October
Sesame Street’s newest curriculum focuses
on “Healthy Habits for Life,” created in response to
the growing crisis of childhood obesity. The preschool years are
a crucial time in children’s lives to foster healthy habits.
The series combines live-action street scenes, appearances by celebrity
guests and animated sequences to reinforce the messages.
Bob the Builder
New episodes September through December
Bob the Builder follows the adventures of Bob and
his five machine friends. While Bob’s world is recognizably
modern, the issues addressed in the series — friendship and
problem-solving — are timeless.
Make Way for Noddy

Make Way for Noddy is built around the adventures
of the little wooden boy with a nodding head and jingly blue hat
whose innocent enthusiasm leads him into all kinds of tricky situations.
