Purpose
for Poetry Videos
After
a thorough background in poetry analysis, students offer
their interpretation of poems, expressed in their voices
with visual accompaniments. The project has evolved with
our increased access to more and better technology, but
the principle and process has remained the same: students
receive a concrete lesson in the power of the poets' words
and techniques by translating those concepts into sight
and sound. When students see the effects of their visual
and vocal choices create, they understand more clearly the
concept of literary and rhetorical analysis required by
the AP tests.
