About TeacherLine

PBS TeacherLine, funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, provides educators with facilitated, online professional development that meets national and local standards.

Key Features of TeacherLine:

• The only professional development courses funded by the U.S. Department of Education

• Meets the definition of High Quality Professional Development mandated by No Child Left Behind Act

• Over 90 course offerings in reading, mathematics, technology integration, science, curriculum and teaching strategies

• Courses are guided by trained facilitators, utilizing Web-based discussion boards to interact with other course participants

• Courses are produced by leading educators, educational institutions and companies

• Six-week courses requiring an estimated 30 hours to complete

• Offers educators high-quality professional development via the Internet, enabling participants to complete course requirements on their terms anytime, anywhere

• Fee for each course is $199

• Two hours of graduate credit is available for each course for an additional fee
